This is one of the 100's of wax paintings I have done on 12"x12" panels...in wax..very textured..although I was 'taught' the smooth way...went to a workshop @ Penland with an R&F teacher who was fabulous --Fall 2009..Encaustic painting is so freeing and fun. I think I love it because I cant control the process. I start out with the plan but then I torch it with a Home Depot blowtorch (Tom leaves the garage when I bring the BIG boy out)and the painting takes on a new identity.
